Confession.

I can blame this entirely on me being a Canadian and not knowing otherwise. Kind of like when some Americans think of Canadians as being red coated mounties riding horses through igloo cities.

Paducah.

How do you say it?

I've always said it PA-duh-kuh.

And today, I learned it is not. I actually prefer my way of saying it. It sounds a little more refined and not so quirky.

Just incase you are like me and don't know.... it is pah-DOO-kah.

*shrinking back into my igloo*

  1. I said Kaffe (as in Fasset) incorrectly for about 4 years! I started using an online dictionary with pronunciations when reading Percy Jackson to my son and now use it all the time!

  2. I've been PA-doo-kah-ing over here on the other side of the world too. I'm Aussie and we talk funny here so maybe nobody noticed!

  3. Well, I don't really care how you say it. Wanna go there with me sometime??

  4. Had it not been for the notorious school shooting there, I probably wouldn't have known how to pronounce it either.
