Millions of Thoughts about longarm quilting in Calgary, quilting design, family, travel...life.
Every year of my life, Remembrance Day grows more important and symbolic for me. Thanks for sharing the video. I have never seen it before.
Why can't someone make a poppy with a pin cover???? I have stabbed and scratched myself to cat-like bloody scratches for two days now. My hands bare real wounds, but it is worth the pain and discomfort when I consider what our soldiers, veterans, peace keepers and military personal have done.
I am not proud to say this, but I experienced my worst school Remembrance Day yesterday. It was pathetic. It was thrown together by our new head teacher with no practise or care. Our school takes great care in these assemblies and have had a great tradition in doing wreaths, songs, stories, a tribute and the Taps played. The music teacher had the choir perform 3 lovely songs and the grade 7's butchered a story book about everyone being the same. To make matters worse, no bulletin boards were on display upstairs, and the grade 7's dropped by to collect poppy money at around 2pm.
I am embarrassed to say I teach at that school. Thank goodness no dignitaries, veterans, or school board staff were present.
