oh gosh yes, it happens to me all the time, but it never occurred to me to mention it, because every time it happens I say to myself "Oh right. Bottom to top." and I stop - it's become a Pavlovian response so much so that I completely forgot about it!

I have never considered the whole direction thing. I am glad it is working better.....yes it is me the absent blogging friend.

Not sure what you mean top to bottom. Remember when I asked you about quilting right to left? On my quilt frame, I quilt from left to right, cut my thread, roll the quilt, and slide the machine back to the right, then start again, because when I try to quilt right to left, it's like petting the hair on your cat from the wrong direction. MEOWWWW!!! The machine doesn't like it. I think it has to do with the way the bobbin moves, and the natural direction of the machine,and the way it was designed.

Now that you have figured it out, just don't quilt the way that was breaking thread! ;)

Ohhh! I hope that was your difficulty! I sorta have to quilt from top to bottom on my LA.

I just began FMQ on my machine this past week and was having the same problem. I got frustrated and started looking at my friends Pintrest for fun and found the solution! Did you know that your bobbin case has its own tension set by a little screw? I didn't. Hope this helps because it is an instant fix. Here is the link.
